Lutheran West 10, Oberlin 0

Senior Jake Dersi was dominant and the Longhorn bats put constant pressure on the Phoenix pitchers as Lutheran West rolled to their third win in four games. The win is Lutheran West’s third straight conference win and puts LW up to 4-9 in conference, tied with Fairview for third place and a half game ahead of Brooklyn. Lutheran West plays Brooklyn tomorrow in a key game in a battle for third in conference.
Dersi was all business. Only once did Oberlin have two base runners on at the same time. Only twice did the Phoenix get a runner to third. Dersi scatted four hits, and, most importantly, allowed no runs. Dersi struck out four in the complete game shut out.
Offensively, Lutheran West put Oberlin starter Drew Randelman in trouble early and often, scoring in every inning but the third. Senior Ricky Downer had three hits including two triples, and junior CJ Griffin had three hits and three RBIs. Sophomore Derek Naim had the only other extra base hit—an RBI double in the fifth. Downer also collected three RBIs to go with his three hits and three runs scored on the day.

Acts 3:6-8 I don’t have much, but what I have I give to you:  In the name of Jesus-Walk!  The man jumped up leaping, dancing and praising God!
