BROOKLYN --  Lutheran West was able to break free from a two game losing slump after picking up a much needed conference win against Brooklyn. West dominated the entire game and was able to hold the Hurricanes to less than ten points per quarter.

Coming into Wednesday’s game, Coach Josh Campbell had one goal: shut down Brooklyn’s top scorer Rachel Verba. The Longhorns were able to contain her and hold her to 11 points on the night.

The Longhorns also controlled the game at the offensive end as well as the defensive end. Senior Ari Tomasula led the Longhorns in scoring, putting in 16. Senior Lindsay Thomas was right behind her with 12 points.

The win pulls the Longhorns to 4-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference.
