BUCKEYE --
The Lutheran West Women’s Basketball program grabbed their second win of the young conference season knocking off host Buckeye last night by the score of 51-41.

Lutheran West, who trailed by five at the end of the first quarter, dominated play in the second and fourth quarter to bring home a ten point victory. Down 16-11 to start the second, the Longhorns outplayed the Bucks to the tune of 19-9 in the second to take the lead 30-25 at the half. The lead drifted down to one by the end of the third, but LW was dominant in the fourth holding the Bucks to only four points and scoring 13 themselves.

Senior Lindsay Thomas led all scorers with 17 points. Seniors Amanda Stephens and Lindsey Tomola added 12.

After a tough loss to a strong Firelands team last Wednesday, the win keeps LW only one game back from 3-0 conference leader Clearview. West plays 2-1 Fairview and then Clearview in their next two games. Both games are on the road.
