ROCKY RIVER --
The Lutheran West Lady Longhorns’ first home game resulted in a loss to one of the best teams in the PAC-12. The game started out slow-paced, with neither team making a basket until almost halfway through the first quarter. However, Keystone picked up their game in the second quarter and outscored the Longhorns 22-6, leaving Lutheran West with an 18 point deficit at halftime.

Starting the second half with a 9-0 run, Lutheran West was able to close the gap in score, even coming within six points at one time.  Still, the Longhorns could not contain Keystone’s firepower in the fourth quarter and ended up losing the game by 15 points.

Keystone was a tough team for the Longhorns. They had a clear height advantage and also had three phenomenal shooters whom each had four three-pointers. As a team, they were able to outrebound and outshoot Lutheran West throughout the entire game.

Lutheran West, although they played aggressively and were scrappy, found itself committing 23 turnovers and too many bad fouls. The Longhorns were also plagued by the occasional inability to finish plays. These factors led to Lutheran West’s second loss of the season.

Junior Lindsay Thomas paced the Longhorns with 15 points, including 3 three-pointers. Senior Katherine Konstan added 7 points.
