On Saturday, August 19, Lutheran West inducted five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame.This prestigious honor has only been awarded to 44 other individuals over the entire history of Lutheran West Athletics (since 1958).
On Friday evening (8/18), the inductees were introduced during the home football game at Alumni Field.
On Saturday morning, the inductees, along with family, friends, former coaches, and current athletic personnel, attended a brunch in their honor. Along with remarks from administration, a guest speaker introduced each inductee. Inductees and their chosen introductory speakers were, in alphabetical order:
Pamela Bartz, Class of 2005, introduced by Jeremy Hartman
Leon Edwards, Jr., Class of 2003, introduced by John Hepp, Class of 2003
Mark Petro, Class of 2006, introduced by Steve Swidrak, Class of 2006
Becky Mooney Thompson, Class of 1998, introduced by Karen Wittrock
Matthew Whetzel, Class of 1992, introduced by Dave Selke
