ORANGE --  Lutheran West almost pulled the upset last night after travelling out to the East Side to face Division 1 Orange High School, but fell short late in the fourth quarter thanks to a couple of three pointers in the final two minutes from the Lions.

In a game where points were rare, Lutheran West was unable to overcome three pointers back-to-back Lion possessions in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.  West had stuck with the Division 1 Lions, and led after three quarters of play 34-31.  Unfortunately, Orange was able to outscore the Longhorns 16-9 in the final quarter to win the game by four points, 47-43.

Longhorn fans were pleased to see junior point guard Chris Scott back on the floor in limited minutes for the first time since he suffered a concussion against Keystone on December seventh.

Junior Greg Kunze led Lutheran West with 12 points.  Seniors Chris Ranc and Dan Hillenbrand added 11.
