ROCKY RIVER --  After losing to LW earlier in the year 5-3, Brooklyn defeated the Longhorns 5-2.  The Hurricanes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.  After being shut out for the majority of the game, LW scored two runs in the sixth inning, but it was too little too late to mount a successful comeback.

Gary Manning dominated the Longhorn hitters from the mound.  When it was all said and done, Manning struck out nine Longhorns and allowed just five hits through six innings.

Freshman Greg Kunze went 5 and 2/3 innings and only surrendered 3 runs, but LW did not provide him with any run support.

Brooklyn had a 3-0 lead going into the sixth inning, but LW struck back when sophomore Eric Lewis hit a single to center field, which drove freshman Alex Kebbel in from third.  Later in the inning, Lewis scored on a single from junior Jake Dersi.  Unfortunately for LW, it would be their last opportunity to do any damage.

In the seventh inning, LW was only down 3-2, but Brooklyn added two more runs to solidify their lead and put the game away.
