Promise #3: Nurturing Community

Each individual is valued and nurtured in a caring Christian community.

It’s not every day high school students say school is a great place to be. At Lutheran West, we hear it a lot. Sometimes it is in words, other times it is in the eyes of a student who receives a hug or reassuring word as they work through a difficult situation. The sense of community is also present when a grateful community member or organization sends a “thank-you” for an act of service well done. Community is something we share, both on and off campus, through venues such as:
  • Individualized Chapel Prayer Requests
  • School-wide Service Projects:
    • City Serve with Building Hope in the City
    • Angel Tree Ministry
    • Voice of the Martyrs Homecoming Project
  • Epic Service Club
  • Peer-to-Peer Tutoring
Students also build their peer community when they become active in our many co-curricular programs.

The high schools take our youth at very changing and challenging times in their lives and hold them in His care and mold them in the way He has taught us.

Acts 3:6-8 I don’t have much, but what I have I give to you:  In the name of Jesus-Walk!  The man jumped up leaping, dancing and praising God!
